On the afternoon of June 4, Nanjing Tech University Pujiang Institute held its first Conference on Work Relating to Foreign Affairs. The purpose of the meeting was to build consensus among different departments and promote the university's educational internationalization process jointly. All presidents, deans of faculties, and directors of different departments attended the meeting.

The meeting was presided over by Zhu Hongqing, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Department. Zhu emphasized that educational internationalization is not only a necessary choice for the development of the university but also a crucial step in enhancing students' all-round quality and the university's influence in the increasingly competitive educational environment.

Vice President Jochen introduced the connotation and importance of educational internationalization. He pointed out that educational internationalization involves not only academic exchange and cooperation but also the sharing of educational concepts and teaching resources. Through educational internationalization, students can gain broader perspectives and more diverse cultural experiences, thereby better adapting to future social and work environments.

Liu Bin, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Department, conveyed the spirit of the Conference on Work Relating to Foreign Affairs 2024 in Jiangsu Provincial Department and shared the international exchange projects currently managed by the International Affairs Department. He reported the recent survey on paralled universities with the summary of common experiences and issues, and proposed targeted suggestions to further optimize the linkage mechanism for international education development among different universities.

Xu Shenxing, Dean of the International Hospitality and Dietary Culture College, shared the experiences of the Sino-foreign cooperative education program (MU Project) as a representative of educational internationalization. He highlighted how the MU Project has proactively created a unique U-shaped curve for project optimization, so as to explore unique experiences and inject vitality into the internationalized education of Pujiang.

Subsequently, each president commented and provided suggestions on educational internationalization based on the divisions they are in charge of. Everyone agreed that educational internationalization is not only an important direction for the university’s development but also a key avenue for enhancing students' all-round quality and cultivating an international perspective.

President Lin Pinghua concluded the meeting with a speech. He emphasized the crucial importance of international exchange and educational internationalization for university's long-term development and put forward three expectations: first, all departments and secondary colleges should work together to cultivate students' international awareness and cross-cultural communication skills; second, to absorb more international education experience through international cooperation; and third, to open overseas channels to find more opportunities for Pujiang students’ advancement. Preseident Lin also put forward the requirements of being pragmatic, enterprising, truth-seeking, and innovative in foreign affairs work, calling on everyone to work together to promote the continuous advancement of Pujiang's educational internationalization.

The convening of this conference has indicated the directions for the university’s educational internationalization. It is believed that with the joint efforts among all departments and secondary colleges, Pujiang Institute's educational internationalization will have an even brighter future.
