At 2 p.m. on March 4th, 2017, the dormitory renovation hosted by Japan’s “the Chief Coordinator” Kondo, was carried out in the Dormitory 1106 in our university.

The minister of International Affairs Department, Robin Liu, attended the event, and was interviewed with Kondo by Column Creative Nanjing of NJTV. Kondo mentioned the design concept of the dormitory renovation from the perspective of functional partitioning, sizes and layout, living route and supply coordination, to show us the way of efficient use of space, improvement of time efficiency and interpersonal connections concerning “human, space and time”. It made the dormitory full of youthful and lively to add DIY in the renovation. Kondo integrated arrangement and storage with spatial partitioning, requirements and circulation of living to demonstrate the human-oriented life philosophy.

Kondo invited participants to try out the contraptions designed for dormitory and shared the source of her ideas during the event. Everyone on the scene learned a lot of tips on how to build a well-organized dormitory. The active questioning and patient explanations pushed it to the climax in great delights.

The event came to a successful conclusion in a cheerful atmosphere. Students had learned how to live more efficiently in a limited dormitory space, how to make the best of what you have and how to live more comfortably through renovation.
