On September 12, 2017, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Chaokuntaharn Ladkrabang (hereinafter called KMITL) visited our university. It was the second time that the delegation of international college had visited our university since cooperation agreement signed on April 20, 2017. The dean of the Automotive College, the Mobile Network College and the director of International Affairs Department, Xiaolong Peng, Bo Jing and Bin Liu separately, met the members of the KMITL delegation, to discuss the details of international cooperation and exchange programs between Pujiang and KMITL in the coming year.

The conference mainly focused on exchange student program, summer camps, study tours and postgraduate admission. For further cooperation, KMITL will provide students in Pujing with free tuition and benefits in the exchange student program, and support their application for scholarships. The summer camp project will adopt a dual operating mode, held in Thailand and China respectively, in which the students of Pujiang, Thailand and several outstanding universities in Germany will promote cultural communication with professional studies. The study tour program will mainly integrate Thai and Chinese students into a group to visit several universities in Germany, which will broaden their horizons, enrich their knowledge, and train their independent abilities and teamwork skills. The KMITL International College will help students in Pujiang Institute get prepared for postgraduate admission, with scholarships and a good international communication environment.

After the conference, the delegation of the KMITL visited and appreciated the broad vision and advanced design of the new campus in Lishui District. Meanwhile, they looked forward to the further cooperation in communication and study.

On September 13, the members of the International Affairs Department and KMITL reported to President Pinghua Lin on the recent international exchange activities. In response, President Lin put forward meaningful suggestions and opinions. For instance, visiting the German and Thai companies in China in the summer camp, which will reflect the “practice-oriented” concept of our university directly and enhance the understanding of exchange students on local Chinese enterprises. Furthermore, cultural activities, like Taichi and Go, can be integrated into various international exchange activities to enhance cultural communication among three countries. Meanwhile, President Lin had great expectations for the cooperation between our university and KMITL, and would root for the international exchange activities. Then, the delegation of KMITL stated that Thai students expressed keen interest in Chinese culture, and the cooperation with Pujiang, which is based on the concept of “practice-oriented”, was also very compatible with the characteristics of their university. They looked forward to the cooperation and improvement of international exchanges for students in the future.
