On 13.7.2021 Dr. Jochen Amrehn, Vice President Nanjing Tech University Pujiang Institute (China) and Assistant to the President, Panyapiwat Institute of Management (Thailand), handed over a set of original documents from Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen to the Director of the Röntgen-Kuratorium Würzburg, Prof. Dr. Dr. Dietbert Hahn. The documents are private property of Dr. Amrehn and have not been shown to the public before. They will be shown in a permanent exhibition at the Röntgen Museum in Würzburg.

The documents consist of pages from the private diary of W.C. Röntgen, his hunting licence, letters from famous scientists such as Heisenberg, Arrhenius etc. to Röntgen as well as other personal documents from Röntgen. The documents were discovered by Dr. Amrehn’s father after WW II.

Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen was one of the most famous German scientists. In 1895 while he was President of the University of Würzburg he discovered the X-Rays. In 1901 he received for this discovery the first Nobel Price in Physics.

The handing over of the documents was witnessed by a number of dignitaries from the city and the universities of Würzburg.

The Röntgen Museum is operated in cooperation between the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt and the University of Würzburg. The handing over of the documents is another step in the close and successful collaboration between the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt and the Nanjing Tech University Pujiang Institute. Nanjing Tech University Pujiang Institute would like to take this opportunity to deepen the coopertation with German universities and institutions.
